this is my second samsung micro. first one died after 4 years. had a replacement policy for ;new one but this one is not user friendly. the numerical panel is way to dark to read unless you use a light! poor design, it should have had a backlight.

installed the product. found out the fans in the back, the two rollers weren't turning. tested by trying to back a potato. the machine died after 3.26 minutes. waited a little bit. tried it again and the machine died again within 3.42 minutes. unplugged it and re plugged it and it worked for a short time. seems like the machine is shorting out. mabe its the fan. whatever it is, they should test their merchandise before selling. major nightmare returning to best buy, who is useless and doesn't answer their phone. totally disappointed in samsung, especially when other reviewers have sent the same product disappointments.

I purchased this microwave for two reasons - it was white to match my other appliances (and samsung offers a limited selection of white microwaves) and it has a powerful fan for venting. It seems to work well so far in terms of the operation of the microwave, hood van, and light, it's been in use about a month. The instructions that arrived with it were very basic, and seemed to be designed for a slightly different model (with a different keypad), so had to go online to figure out how some of the features were activated (such as the clock). It has an "eco" mode that appears to simply turn off the digital clock when not in use, this seems nice but I'm not sure how much difference it makes.
My biggest complaint is how this mounting system skimps on top mounting screws, using only two, compared to previous over-the-range micros I've installed or removed that all had at least three. While two screws may be sufficient to hold the microwave in place, it noticeably sags in the middle (see picture), as all the weight is on the sides (with only two screws). Most people can't see this, but if you are over 6 ft. tall (which I am) you can! So, this is something that I'm rather unhappy about as part of our brand new kitchen. I cannot speak to the longevity of the microwave yet, but it works well initially, with mounting issues that seem to be the result of a cheaper mounting system.

The first time I used this microwave it did not work. I would not recommend purchasing this product. I installed the appliance, the clock worked, the fan worked and it appeared as if it would be a working product.
However, the FIRST TIME I put an item in to defrost/heat up the turntable did not work nor did the heat work inside the microwave. I called Samsung to have the appliance replaced, because it was defective and I had never actually used it. They refused. Their customer service was unprofessional. They told me it would have to be repaired, despite being brand new. A repair company was sent to fix it, but didn't have the correct parts with them because, essentially, the microwave needed an entire new main frame/main board.
Knowing what was defective, I called Samsung back to again request the appliance be replaced, but I was refused. This experience has left me regretting my choice in a Samsung appliance and I write this to warn anyone else thinking of purchasing - not only is the product defective, but the company does not have an appropriate warranty policy to replace the unit and stand by their product.
As you can see from the photo - the microwave is not installed because I was responsible for taking it off the wall to be repaired.
