when we built our house we bought all new samsung appliances, including this dishwasher that cost approximately $1,200. after just a few years of using it, we are now getting a lc code on the screen and the dishwasher stops working. if you search the internet for this lc code, you will find a lot of other people having the same issue. i'm being told i need to replace a $180 drain pump on my dishwasher and there's no guarantee that this will fix the issue. so i could spend $180 for the part and another $80 for a service call and still not have a working dishwasher. samsung needs to fix this. if i have to buy a new dishwasher, i promise you that it won't be a samsung dishwasher.

this was an amazing dishwasher for the first six months that it worked. it started having very odd control issues, sometimes the buttons would stop working, sometimes it would not start properly, sometimes it would show error codes that are not real error codes so the technicians could not diagnose the machine. it then stopped working into one year, out of the warranty, this is a dishwasher, it should last atleast five years so the warranty period is too short.

i have had this dishwasher for less than five years and i am replacing it. it needed repairs about every 6 months for the past two years and samsung is unable to fix it so that it works reliably. i would never buy a samsung appliance again.

bought this dishwasher along with fridge, stove and microwave in jan 2019. dishwasher does not work 18 months after purchase, of course after the warranties that cover these things expired. lower rack "waterfall" device does not work and does not clean anything on the lower rack. now the repair is going to cost more than 1/2 the cost of a new one. no way.. not going to fix this junk just to have it break down again. we had a different dishwasher for 15 years and it worked without any issues, but remodeled our kitchen and went with all the same brand appliances because we thought they had good quality products.. nope.. so we are going back to my old brand dishwasher. do not buy.

i purchased in may 2018 within 3 months i started getting a lc leak detection code. best buy scheduled a warranty fix with samsung to come out and fix it, fast forward to january 2021 and the code is back. there is no leak nor has their ever been one. samsung puts be in touch with company that tells me it will be $100 for them to diagnosis the system, then a labor and parts charge. for a $1000 dishwasher shouldn't have the same issue twice in less than 3 years then be exoected to service if for 20% of what it cost.

this worked well for first 12 months. from that point onwards it has been a downhill disappointing experience. at first the dishes in the lower rack won't clean sporadically. eventually it stopped cleaning lower rack dishes completely. it looks like the lower water wall arm is not functioning at all. given the covid situation i am refraining from getting any service help and was trying to make the best out of what's functioning. however; from last several days the cycle would abruptly come to a stop. it was sporadic again for last several days. since last couple of days its happening with every cycle. the concept and idea is great. when this dishwasher was functioning it worked well. however; this is not built for the long haul. extremely poor quality

Don't buy Samsung stainless steel appliances You'll get RUST RUST RUST and no help.
I purchased a Samsung stainless steel dishwasher which was delivered in December of 2015.
It was stored inside the house and installed in my new kitchen in March 2016
Within a few weeks, I noticed spots on the front of the door and when I wiped it off was shocked to see a rust color on the paper towel. The front stainless panel was growing rust!
I contacted Samsung and after explaining the situation, being placed on hold the nice person gets back on the phone and tells me that unfortunately that is a cosmetic issue and not covered by the warranty.
Shocked, I pleaded my case and explained that I did not do anything to cause this on a new dishwasher and it had to be a manufacturing defect. After much back and forth I was escalated to "executive customer support". Explain everything and am told the same thing… not covered.
I ended up calling back a few days later and told them I was not happy and they gave me some more "executive customer support" and finally agreed to listen. They asked me to send pictures of it which I did and I followed up a few days later with another call.
They told me that they could send someone out to look at it but if they determined that it wasn't under warranty that I would be responsible for the cost of the service call. I said I was not paying for a service call for a manufacturing defect.
A few days later, the out of state authorized appliance repair place called and scheduled an appointment. When they showed up, he was shocked at the finish and since his phone was dead and couldn't take pictures, I emailed him my photos that had gone to Samsung.
After not hearing back for several weeks, I contacted the authorized repair place and was told that Samsung had denied the repair and would not be fixing it.
Several more calls to Samsung and the end result is they would do nothing to repair or replace the stainless steel panel. They offered to transfer my call to the parts department so I could order a new one. I will never by another Samsung product because of this lack of customer service and their hiding behind a non coverage clause for cosmetic damage of their warranty when in reality it is clearly a manufacturing defect.
Buyer beware when thinking about ANY Samsung stainless steel appliance. So far, only my dishwasher has the rust but the point is they will not cover it.

It is very quiet. I will admit that. One has to see if the light is on to ensure it is running. However, after 10 months it no longer works. The place I bought it from has had a technician out here 4 times due to noise and leaking. They have not been able to fix either. Once the error code for a leak displays (LC) the dishwasher does not run. So, since November (it is now mid Jan) I have not been able to use this dishwasher. Thank goodness it is still under warranty. I suspect Samsung only puts a 1 year warranty on it because it is a piece of junk. Also, when it does run it cleans great and I was happy with it. Too bad it no longer runs. At this pricepoint, I expect much better quality.

I purchased this more or less on a whim. I have used it for about 2 months now and have not had any issues with it at all. I think my only complaint is that on a few textured plastic plates my toddler son uses it appears to leave trace amounts of detergent. I am still experimenting with different brands of soap so as of now I am blaming that. Glass and ceramic dishes come out so shiny its hard to tell that some of them are 10 years old.

I am a bit of a fan when it comes to this device. I found things I did love about it and yet a few that didn't quite impress me as much as I would have hoped. The drying methods are not perfect. I prefer the open door option as opposed to closed which in my opinion doesn't quite dry a thing. At least not anything noticeable to me so far. The open door drying method partly dries things but when closed everything comes out completely drenched. The cleaning process is outstanding though and I found myself very impressed with it! All in all it is still definitely worth getting!

I love the amazing cleaning abilities that this dishwasher provide. In that area I find it outstanding. My one complaint at the moment is perhaps the fact that it does not dry anything I wash in it very well. I have tried the various methods and found none all that impressive. That said it is like comparing a shower to a bathtub experience. With the door cracked open things are moderately wet but when closed I find them drenched with water. Now this definitely doesn't make me dislike the machine. I can in all honesty state that the door open method is by far better than when closed. I have had far worse and survived and everything else this brings is of the upmost dependable quality I was hoping and beyond! I think this dishwasher is definitely worth having!

We purchased this for our newly built home 3 months ago based on the features it offered and its relatively good reviews. But so far its performance doesn't come close to what we'd expect from a machine at this price point. I've included pictures of some of its "basic" cleaning fails - fails that most of our previous dishwashers (models that were well below the price of this one) would not have had. I don't expect any dishwasher to get baked on cheese or burnt on foods off, but I do expect all machines to have no problem getting light greasy residue off ANY surface - afterall, hot water alone does a decent job on its own doing that. So add in a Finish Powerball Tab and Jet Dry, like I have been using for the past several years in all of my machines, and I easily expected this machine to have no problem with greasy residue and lightly soiled dishes. I've used the "heavy" cycle option, and have added the hi-temperature boost option in an attempt to get it to clean better but to no avail. I'm really surprised this dishwasher has such consistently good reviews for its washing capabilities and am just glad we haven't experienced any of the mechanical failures that seem to be its real shortcoming with most of the consumers that are unhappy with it. I'm beginning to wonder if our machine was somehow not installed correctly or has a defect? It runs just fine and is super quiet - it just doesn't clean that well?

After the professional installed the washer, it worked twice. Then it gave an LC leakage check code. The installers came back out and turned circuit breaker back on and it worked. Today I had to turn the washer off and on several times and shake carriages before it would stop flashing the time and actually run a normal cycle. It should not take research to figure out a new "smart" dish washer.
