As I previously explained to LG the ice maker on my refrigerator stopped working less than two years after I purchased it from Lowes. When I contacted customer service to request a courtesy repair I was told that I needed the original physical receipt printed from the register. I was instructed to contact Lowes corporate office to obtain it.
Lowes was only able to provide me with an emailed copy of the receipt not the original printed register receipt. I submitted the emailed receipt and purchase information to your warranty department but my request was still denied because I could not provide the specific physical receipt your representatives requested.
Since you asked how my LG refrigerator is working my honest experience has been very disappointing. A refrigerator especially from a major brand like LG should not have a major component fail in less than two years. What has made the situation worse is that despite providing proof of purchase and making every effort to comply with your process your customer service department has refused to help.
At this point I am extremely dissatisfied with both the reliability of the product and the support I have received from LG.

We have had multiple issues with this fridge. To change the filter is really hard to do we had to have the repair company out 3 times for it. The first time they changed the filter and said oh you do it like this. The second time they changed the casing because it was defective at that time the repair guy broke the plug so I was without a fridge for a week until the part came in. Now the ice maker leaks but I dont want to deal with repair people. I do not recommend LG.

I inherited this refrigerator when I bought this house. The previous owners did not leave an owners operating manual. Its ok. It cools an freezes properly. I like the dispenser in the door however it has a bad design flaw. The place where you put a cup/glass to get water is convex therefore the cup/glass only kinda balances on the curve. It should have been a concave curve to accomodate the cup/glass.

We have not been issued our refund for this fridge and it has been over two weeks. It is absolutely ridiculous and should not take this long. We reached out last week and they said it should have come through already. It didnt we called back today and they said that it would be another 7-10 business days before it would come through Thats terrible especially with such an expensive item to not have the refund for this long is horrible. happy with the fridge other than 2 features missing from my previous lg fridge. Wish it had the flip out door rack in the freezer and there needs to be a better system or tray to catch ice and water from the door dispenser...crushed ice and any overflow have nowhere to be held and just run down the door and onto the floor. My old fridge had a tray that slid in and out. The freezer rack was exceptionally handy for ice packs and it looks to be built to be able to accommodate this rack...even tried to see if my old rack would fit but no luck.

I want to share my experience to help other consumers avoid the same frustration. I purchased a different LG refrigerator model that uses the same linear compressor technology found in the discontinued LFXS28566S.
March 2023: The original compressor failed and was replaced under LGs 10-year parts warranty.
September 2025: The replacement compressor failed again after only 2 years despite LGs claim that these compressors have a 20-year durability.
Despite this being a known defective part LGs linear compressors have been the subject of previous class action lawsuits LG refuses to cover labor costs and only offers a flat-rate $400 repair.
That flat-rate repair includes just a 90-day warranty meaning there is a high likelihood the substandard replacement part will fail again prematurely requiring another costly repair all while still technically under a 10-year parts warranty.
Due to the compressor failure I was forced to discard a full refrigerator and freezers worth of food a significant loss LG does not compensate for.
I have escalated the issue through LG executives and the Presidential Liaison team but the responses have been dismissive and unhelpful. I am now pursuing complaints with the Texas Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission FTC.
If youre considering an LG refrigerator with a linear compressor be aware: these units have a documented history of early failure the 10-year warranty is misleading because labor costs are not covered and replacement parts carry only a 90-day warranty despite being known to be unreliable. Consumers deserve better from a company of this size.

We had the compressor replaced in December 2024. Now just a few months later in July 2025 the refrigerator has stopped cooling again. The compressor is hissing and breaking down. After only 56 years of use the refrigerator is no longer functionaleven after installing a new compressor.
We contacted LG for support and asked them to take responsibility for replacing the failed compressor. However they cited their 90-day policy and refused to provide any assistance unless we paid for another replacement. This is unacceptable.
We trusted LG but we are extremely disappointed by the lack of support and the refusal to take accountability for a clearly faulty product.
As much as we like LGs design our advice now is: DO NOT buy LGstay away

I loved it. Took it home and found out that the ice maker dispenses LESS THAN 1 ONE Cup of ice. It then must start a new cycle. Dispenses water fillfreeze and in an hour....another half a cup of ice. I paid 1500 for nothing. We wanted a powerful ice maker. We made that clear to the person at Home Depot. I will never buy an LG product again. I saved a long time for this. Its useless.

So I paid nearly $5000 for this stupid refrigerator during the pandemic. It has been a nightmare since then. First the specialty ice maker broke within 3 months. It just stopped working. And then the top shelf thing fell out of the freezer randomly and it could not be replaced. Last straw was when my daughter went to get something out of the freezer and the top drawer just fell out and again unable to replace. Save yourself a headache. Even at $1500 its not worth it.

I purchased this refigerator not even 18 months ago. While I like the fridge itself Im getting an error message that the freezer fan isnt operating properly. Ive done the basic trouble shooting of unplugging it for a few minutes to reboot and reset the error. The error comes back. I also tried thawing the freezer and fridge for 3 days in the event that ice buildup was causing the issue. That didnt work either. So my best guess is the fan motor is no longer working which is ridiculous for a fridge that isnt even 18 months old. Very disappointing. Other than that it was exactly what I needed as someone who lives alone. Not too fancy or complicated.

I have owned this product for a bit more than a year. 7 months in the ice maker quit. I went round and round with customer support. I live in an area with no maintenance support. long story short they refused to replace the unit they eventually got a repair deck from another town to drive over and repair it. here we are 3 months later and again the ice make has quit my warranty is either void or almost void and I hired a local company to come out and try to repair it on my dime. different issue this time but LG does not have any online manuals or parts availability. tach tells me I need the main control board two evaporator fans and the control circuit. he cant order these parts because there is no online manual to access. My fridge and freezer are staying cold but I dont have Ice or water. Im getting tired of this.

Purchased this from Lowes with the 5 year protection plan THANK GOD 2 weeks after the 1 year warranty ended I got the error code 1F E for the ice maker fan. Lowes was not able to find anyone to fix it so they replaced it with a brand new one THANK GOD. Now I am trying to find a replacement part so I can get rid of it and LG has been no help what so ever on locating the correct replacement part #. All they want is for me to pay them to fix it by one of their techs. No thank you

One STAR due to deign flaw. I wanted to replace the LG refrigerator that I bought 10 years ago which was a very high quality unit. I sought out the one that closely matched the appearance of that last model. Got it installed and I discover this is a very cheap product. The worst part is the design flaw where the right side door requires extra force to get it to close. Id say 3 to 5 lbs although I do not have a way to measure this. I am returning this refrigerator. Im shocked LG would think anyone would be happy with this design. Were it not of ratios design Id have lived with the overall cheapness but this flaw kills the purchase for me. See the video. WELL SO FAR I SEE NOW WAY TO ADD THE VIDEO UNLES IS WILL HAFE HTAT OPTION AFTER I HIT SUBMIT The question is will I get another LG to go to a different brand. I now question LG given the low quality I see on this unit.

Two small issues one the doors close very firmly and causes the unit to slip backwards the other is that both doors have to be opened to access the cold cut/eggs draw.

Like everything I buy I do my research. LG has a reputation for great electronics. I love how much room this fridge has. We are three adults sharing this refrigerator/freezer. We no longer have problems with room. The door icemaker is not intrusive so it doesnt take up much room. The freezer is huge. All in all Im very glad We bought this refrigerator/freezer. Consumer Reports comes through again. Another great LG product in the house.

I bought my refrigerator on July 12 2023 and on August 16 I had to have it fixed it was making a very loud noise. The motor and something else that was on aboard had to be replaced after only a little over a year. The vents on the doors were replaced because they were on recall. I really feel like it should have been replaced went to store next day mgr was in meeting and I havent been able to get back up there. I think the mgr in appliances is very knowledgeable and listened to his customers. I am however very dissatisfied with the quality of the refrigerator anything should last longer than a year. I didnt get the refrigerator I picked out when it was delivered the men said it had a dent had to be returned when they brought the one I have now I questioned that was told that they had upgraded me to a better refrigerator obviously that wasnt the truth Im not even sure if I got a new refrigerator since its has only lasted a little over a year I didnt receive my refrigerator free or at a discounted price I paid full price for it

The FFE error code on the refrigerator seems to be the #1 design flaw. The dishwasher has the drying failure. After waiting 2weeks with no refrigerator and the loss incurred while under manufacture warranty I can say we would not recommend the products. A handful of their CS team are inept and lie to appease. So many calls for true answers The LG company policy and part of the management want you to just be satisfied they paid for you to get it repaired in their timeframe which doesnt include weekends but the refrigerator doesnt take weekends off now does it. Compensation should be given for loss of products our dairy fruit formula and so on was just wastedbuying ice and coolers and everything else you may have done to just keep some normalcy while waiting for the technicians that they approve. *So In the year 2024*to be told to defrost your fancy freezer for 24 hours so your refrigerator may or may not get cold afterwards is unacceptable . The gas stove is has a great look grill plate yet hard to clean overall. Dandy microwave game system features you gotta figure them out. Again the dishwasher worked properly for 2 months. Use your own caution and always weigh reviews. This huge company didnt want to compensate kindly for our losses. Not everyone has $funds to throw away. The hard to find approved repair technician was a day later than expected and said whats one more day says the guy with a running fridge.pfft

Second fridge was delivered and after a week the same thing bad tasting water
After contacting LG and trying everything they recommended with no luck
Very disappointed with LG refrigerators.

We are enjoying our purchase as it gives us lots of room in both the refrigerator and the freezer compartment. The French doors work well and the door ice maker does not seem to interfere with having plenty of inside door room.
