I've had this refrigerator for about 4 months so I've gotten to know its pros and cons. Unfortunately, no matter where I looked, no store had a demo model to look at so I bought it based on the pictures. Mistake! The top shelf does not have enough height to accommodate a bottle, milk carton or pitcher. It can't be adjusted because the deli shelf hangs right beneath it. the door shelves can hold some bottles, but the overall layout could have been much more efficiently designed.
On the plus side, the freezer light is a nice plus. Clear vegetable bins make it easier to see what's inside and the fingerprint resistant stainless steel doesn't show hand prints.
I almost rated it a 2 because after 2 months I started having condensation build up and puddles on my top shelf. Maytag warranty repair service has so far been abysmal. I called in early Aug and was given a mid-Sept date for a repair visit. A day before the visit, (after I had rearranged my work schedule), it was cancelled and I was given an Oct date that didn't work for me. Now I have to wait until early Nov for a repair visit. It's still dripping. Don't get an extended warranty if this is how they deliver on needed repairs.

The door squeals when I open it. Otherwise I like the shelf arrangements, the wide upper drawer for lunch meat, cheese, etc. nice size crispers. East to clean shelves. Door shelves nicely arranged. Easy to clean stainless steel. Ya, I like It!

delivered on sept 13, 2019. the next day our kitchen floor was flooded with water when we awoke. the ice maker failed, took us 1/2 hours to clean up. called whirlpool about this may tag refrigerator, they said that home depot was responsible, called home depot, they said whirlpool was, wente back and forth for two hours, finally home depot set up an appointment for sept 17. The refrigerator has been running constantly since it was turned on, it won't shut off, the repairman came and said that this refrigerator was a piece of junk, since then the refrigerator is leaking water on the top shelf of refrig and dripping down on floor. They say they are getting us a new one, but when??????? our 20 year old maytag that we just replaced worked better than this one

To be quite honest I was disappointed in the quality of all the refrigerators from all brands. I wanted the top freezer and without French doors. There aren't many to choose from with those features. I am not happy with the quality of the plastic drawers. They feel like they will break easily. The deli drawer doesn't sit right on one side and there is a gap when the drawer is shut. There is some wierd plastic that looks like patches on the bump out parts that hold the shelves. The door hinge squeaks and probably needs lubrication. The refrigerator stays very humid inside on humid days. The fridge doesn't seem to regulate it the way my old fridge did. This fringe was bought from an appliance store that sells new merchandise. The fridge was backordered from Matag. It keeps the food cold as any new fridge should do. So as you can see, I am not that happy with my purchase.

I bought this fridge along with a Maytag stove and microwave. All three have a beautiful finish. My only issue is the noise of the refrigerator. I like the looks, the layout of the shelves and even the lighting. I can't stand the noise it makes. I am giving this product 4 stars that would easily be 5 stars if it wasn't so loud.

This shelves are flimsy, the freezer door doesn't shut properly, and the big fridge door squeaks on opening and closing. Repair guy has been here once already and coming out again. The door cannot be adjusted, so I think this is a factory problem.
Also, the edges of the door are sharp enough to cut you. The door skins are wrapped and folded in such a way, then cut a bit raggedy, not smoothed out at all.
Major disappointment.

We have an older home with a small kitchen and this Maytag works great in our compact space. We appreciate the fingerprint resistant stainless steel finish especially when our grand kids show up and raid the refrigerator. Personally I appreciate the clear shelves so I can see whats in the crispers and the full lengthen drawer inside the refrigerator. For our needs this refrigerator is well designed and very functional.

The size is perfect for a small frig!
I finally feel I have a regular size frig. One thing I would like to suggest...,to take light out of the middle of top shelf. You loose space....it is quiet , good size freezer !

The freezer started building up frost almost as soon as we got the fridge. The plastic drawers are flimsy and don't track well. Condensation builds up inside the bins and drips on the vegetables. The fridge is warm and humid. We called and were told to clear the vents which we did and then the whole thing iced up again. Service tech came, stayed 5 minutes and said clear the vents, "there is no problem." If we could return it, we would, but we are apparently out $1000+ for the fridge and $200 for spoiled food and are thinking about putting this in the basement as a beer fridge.

I bought this refrigerator in September 2017 in black. I like the inside capacity and the center cheese/lunch meat drawer. I like the subtle texture in the finish but finger prints are extremely visible on the finish. My previous refrigerator was black and I never saw fingerprints like this one displays. I am extremely disappointed with how easily the surface scratches. I had to remove the magnets from the refrigerator because when the magnets were moved without lifting them from the service of the door the finish scratches. I would not purchase this refrigerator again.

I have had this fridge for two years and it's dead. Last year when the fridge was new we had to have a technician come out twice and he still didn't resolve the issue. I just bought $190 in groceries and the fridge stopped working. The freezer is currently 40 degrees so all of the food is spoiled. The customer service department said I would have to pay a technician to come out and service the fridge. I am furious that I spent all this money on the fridge and all of the spoiled groceries. I will NEVER buy a Maytag appliance again.

Manufacturer's QA department does not exist. Sheet metal on the edges of the doors are not bent properly, making the edges sharp enough to cut yourself. Freezer door not aligned properly.Upper door flip shelf cover rubs against the side when in use. No ice cube trays.

I bought this as it fit a very challenging space. It started making loud noises and it was diagnosed with a bad compressor. Maytag generously gave me a consession and sent a new compressor (they technically didn't have to do anything because it's only warrantied for one year) it was going to cost me 250 to get it installed...they came to do the installation and the new one didn't work. Had to buy another brand new refrigerator. I can't beloeve that a company makes a product that only lasts 2 years.

I bought this fridge 3 weeks ago, we are very please with this. We also purchased the ice maker and am very happy with that. Love that the shelves are straight across and not separated in the middle. The only thing I can say I was a little unhappy about is the bottom drawers tend to stick a little bit when trying to open, perhaps they will loosen up with time.

I bought this about a month ago I had hardly any options because of fit requirements. The door bins that hold milk cracked . Maytag uses a very cheap plastic compared to the sturdy lexan used in my old fridge. The vegetable crispers are made of the same cheap plastic. I would have been willing to pay more for more durable bins.

I bought this refrigerator a few weeks ago. Pros: I purchased this model because I needed large capacity along with a maximum depth of 31". This was the only one I found. Cons: The fruit/vegetable bins do not close completely...this is by design...and they are flimsy, as is the center drawer. I purchased the OPTIONAL ice maker which is extremely noisy when it's filling with water. It's louder than if I were to run the water at full force in my kitchen sink. The ice maker has already leaked twice causing an incredible mess (1/2" thick ice in freezer, water in refrigerator and all over the floor). I personally don't know anyone who doesn't have an ice maker. Why this would not be a standard feature is beyond me as a factory installed ice maker would presumably be better quality and quieter. I was also surprised to find that there is no water filter. Again, why? This was not an inexpensive refrigerator yet the quality is just not there. Very disappointed.

Great to find a basic refrigerator to fit the space that has no ice maker and no water dispenser or any of the unnecessary extras and it fit perfectly. Only negative is that my large 3 liter cranberry juice has to fit on the door with the milk. The sale price was good, although I had to wait 2 months for it to arrive in Hawaii.Would recommend this appliance, it fits a family of 3 just fine. Also fingerprint resistant is a real plus. I have only had this for 2 weeks and so far so good.

I purchased this refrigerator because it was the least expensive. I am using it in my vacation home so a better quality appliance wasn't an option. I was surprised how short it is (I didn't pay much attention to the specs). The thing I don't like about it is that the edges of the door, especially by the handle are very sharp and will cut you if you are not careful.

Single compressor pushes cold air from freezer to refrigerator. Refrigerator door doesn't close without pushing forcefully; this can lead to the freezer door 'popping open'. Forget putting that 1/2 gallon of milk on the door as so often displayed. It makes the door even heavier and harder to close; it swings back open. Internal shelves are straight across the full width of the refrigerator reducing storage space flexibility. Split shelves would be much better. Deli drawer is a waste of space. If you try to put in more than 2 packs of deli meats and 2 packs of deli cheese you run the chance of pulling the drawer off the flimsy little rack.

I bought this fridge to replace my 30 year old Maytag fridge and am happy to have a fridge that is a similar design. It cools very well and makes food easy to access. I like the 33" width, although would have preferred 28" depth instead of 30.5". The movable bins are great and make room for lots of tall containers in the door. I would have preferred a second bin with a cover on the top of the door instead of the flimsy egg tray. My old fridge had a solid shelf, cover and removable egg tray. I like the larger bottom bin for veggies, instead of 2 bins the same size. The clear bins make it easy to see the produce. The sliding drawers are not as solid as the old fridge that had little wheels on the tracks. The meat drawer is too big and has fallen out already. I preferred the half width meat drawer in my old fridge. I don't eat meat, so the extra large tray wastes space that could be used on the shelves. The temperature and light panel is too bulky and take up room that could be used for tall containers. The old Maytag had the temperature controls in the panel between the fridge and freezer. The freezer size is awesome, although the shelf brackets are pulling out and look like they will break in time. The freezer shelf could be higher to accommodate tall items on the bottom freezer door and could have different height options and brackets like the ones in the fridge. I was glad that I kept my old ice trays and bin - it would be nice if these were included with the fridge. I was disappointed in the quality of the finish inside the fridge - there are black marks and scratches inside the upper left side of the fridge and freezer and the glue is visible on the corners - not the same quality of construction as in my old Maytag or the new Whirlpool fridges. The bins could be heavier with a more reliable track.The pocket handles on the door are fine but I would prefer the curved metal handles that the Whirlpool fridge has - for appearance and function. The fridge doors and kitchen door had to be removed to bring the fridge into my house through a standard 30" door, so there is no need for a clean front. I also had to pay extra to have the door swing changed to a left hand hinge - it would be nice if this was an option when ordering. I hope that Maytag will continue to make a traditional freezer on top fridge. I still prefer the accessibility and function of this fridge over the French doors and freezer on the bottom fridges.
