Just used it for supper for the first time and although I'm still learning my way around it is so much better that the step- down model. The heat control is so fine- tuned it has a huge variety of heat available. Safe to use because it has no knobs all finger touch and it won't turn on without a pan on the burner. I know I am already happy and it is only day one. I love to make omelets so the range of heat is perfect. I would recommend it for sure. It heats on the spot no waiting.

So far, so good. I was a little disappointed because online, it stated that my GE cooktop was made in Georgia. Not so. Oh well. It's a very responsive heating element and adjusting to induction is no big deal. Controls adapt quickly from hot to cooler. I like the H to alert heat remaining on the burner. I chose this over gas because of breathing issues and it's hot where I live. This cooktop remains cool to the air. Very attractive Italian glass Easy to clean. Please continue to work!!!! How long will she last???

I love this cooktop so far. It installed very quickly. The pans heat so fast so cooking takes less time, especially if you need to have something to come to a boil. Cleans up easier because it™™s the pan that gets hot and not the actual burner. There also isn™™t a fear of leaving the burner on once you remove the pan it turns off for you. I like that the larger burner is front and center.

This new induction cooktop covers all the bases. It was a snap to install. It is the perfect size. It is sleek and modern. The controls are well positioned and simple to understand and adjust. It is extremely fast to change temperatures. And the position of the heat elements is for real cooks. Excellent product!

After 2.5 years of normal use, something happened to my Profile Induction Cooktop, and the induction assembly completed melted. There was a terrible burning plastic smell and smoke coming from underneath. It did not trip the circuit breaker to cut the power to itself. I was extremely worried that we would have an electrical fire. The repair cost was quite high, and GE customer service said it was totally out of their hands since the warranty had expired. This kind of thing should not happen on such a new appliance. I DO NOT recommend.

Would be a great cooktop IF all the burners worked reliably: the left rear burner won't turn on after only a few months of use. We had GE replace parts to correct the problem (still under warranty, so no charge) and after ONE use, the left rear burner on the repaired cooktop failed to turn on, and continues to be faulty. Clearly there is a problem with this model. (The repair tech said he had 4 calls in the last week to correct this exact problem!) Come on, GE: correct this fault and do whatever is needed to give us a fully-functional cooktop!

This is the 3rd profile cook top we've purchase. Never have I been so dissatisfied with the unit. Just the effort it take to keep the surface clean is more work than any of the other units. It leave scares on the element that has to be scrub off with cleaner. I've had it for two weeks from Home Depot and would really like to return it.

This cooktop will give you time back...It boils water super-fast and helps get dinner done faster! But also, allows great control of temps when you're cooking something special. Lastly, you don't have to worry if somebody leaves a burner on...The surface won't be hot unless there's a pan on it.

One of my favorite features is the completely flat surface™"there are no raised buttons or knobs, which makes cleaning effortless. The speed to heat pans and boil water is incredible. I also love the built-in timer, which I use all the time to keep track of cooking without needing a separate kitchen timer. Another standout feature is how the cooktop itself doesn™™t get hot™"only the pans do. This not only makes it safer, but also simplifies cleanup, especially if anything boils over. [Employee of ge_appliances] This is my first induction cooktop, so I'm learning. One learning was even though a pan is metallic on the bottom, you need to really look at the surface area of the magnet (the whole bottom might not be metallic). I had one with a magnet that didn't reach very close to the edge of the pan, so it didn't brown food on the outer edges of the pan like it did the middle (picture grilled cheese with only half of it golden brown). I now know to look before I buy cookware. The power boil feature is my favorite feature. Synching two burners to create one larger burner is my second favorite feature. I was confused by the EF error it gave when something was placed on top of the controls, but the owner's manual explained it. Overall, I am very happy with how it cooks and cleans. I love it!
