I took the compact microwave out of the box and the door of the microwave would not open! I took the cover off with the torque screwdriver that I had. then preceded to reinstall the inner part that releases the door. Somewhere along the way it was dropped, thus dislodging the inner release.

I am very disappointed in this GE microwave. This replacement unit is not nearly the quality of the previous unit. The door opening mechanism and keyboard are loud and clunky instead of the smooth operation of the previous unit. I purchased this unit with a phone call to the local dealer. If I had seen the unity prior to purchase, I would have
selected another brand. This GE unit looks and sounds cheap>

The previous model was installed when the home was built in 2005. Over time, the door hinge failed and the roof of the interior disintegrated, and was replaced by this model on 1/15/22. GE did not keep the same exact dimensions for the replacement model, so that it did not fit correctly into the precious space.

Simple, straightforward, everything our family of five needs in a microwave. Had the exact same model for about 10 years. It finally called it quits. Ordered the exact same thing because we didn't want any bells or whistles, just the basic functions. Heat things up defrost, timer, different power levels. Nothing sexy. It works like a real pro. Not too big so that it overpowers kitchen space.

We have owned three of these units because they hang underneath our cupboards giving us more counter space. This is a great feature. I like the easy controls. Disappointedly they only last a year or two. I'm getting quite good at replacing the 15 amp fuse which for some reason allows it to operate for another couple of months before failing again. So in the final analysis I would not recommend this microwave to a friend.

This is our second microwave of its kind. First one lasted 16 years. We mounted it under the cabinet saving countertop space. The low profile is just right size opposed to larger ones taking up space you could use. We don't use it to cook turkey size food and 98% of the time most won't. When this one fizzles out we'll get another just like it.

It's smaller inside- we compared the glass dish on the bottom but choices were limited. Buttons are quieter and display is brighter. So far (3 weeks) so good. Since we've only used it 3-4 times all I can say is that the measurements could not be more perfect. this is important to us since we have an opening designed for a microwave and it absolutely must fit, or we'd need to return it. The design is appealing, and everything works great. Quite an improvement from our previous 17 year old model, also from GE, which this replaced.

We replaced a similar GE Microwave after several years of everyday use. The old door was getting quite grungy, so time to replace. My microwave was mounted under a 24" cabinet which is smaller fit than most microwaves. The old microwave measured 23 3/4" wide so it fit fine in the space. I was a bit worried when this one was visibly wider. I measured and it was exactly 24". It fit more snuggly in the space, but no problem getting it in. In fact, it was a more perfect fit than the old one.
Even though the old unit was a similar GE model, the mounting holes were not in the same place, so I had to drill new holes in the bottom of the cabinet to mount it up, which left extra holes. It was nothing a little wood filler couldn't cover up.
I have used it a few times and noticed it runs quieter than the old model and I like the LED lighting.

This MW replaced a previous GE Profile unit of approximately same feature and power level. Was one of few I found that had Sensor Cooking, which we use extensively for vegetables. Like the Reheat feature, which works well for a variety of foods. We did find the controls less intuitive than the previous unit, and it took us quite awhile to figure out the entry sequences. Also, the door sounds tinny compared to the older unit. And I wish that the minute timer had a repeat alarm, instead of just a single "beep".

New microwave to replace 20 year old one - exact same model. Old one had only minor nuisance problem - resetting by unplugging kept the microwave working. Looking forward to this one working as long as the previous one. Excellent size - fits right where the older did. New feature is a turntable inside. Height increased by about 1/2", which still fit in the space. Price is more than other brands, but if it lasts it is worth the extra $$.
