Although I've only had my cooktop a few days, it's exactly what I've been wanting. It has so many advanced features and it's beautiful. It heats-up without delay and quickly adjust to temperature changes. Without knobs it makes the stove top so easy to clean. I simply love it.

The locking function enables the cleaning easy. The timer with a musical alarming signal is helpful when you are in kitchen or neerby. However, I would expect the timer can stop at least one selected cook surface will be a meaningful improvement. The buyer should be careful to confirm the existing countertop opening is not over the limit before your purchase, otherwise you will have to reduce the opening or face possible failure - the whole sheet metal enclosed chassis separating with glass top and drop off!!! In general, it was a good product and my wife loved it.

I never even boiled water on it! We've had several setbacks with our remodeling so it had been installed, we had turned it on and tested it then it sat for several weeks. Got up one morning and it had an error code. Can't be fixed, has to be replaced. Thankfully, we had bought the Lowe's warranty as the manufacturer warranty had expired. Don't think I'll be buying anything from GE to replace it. Very disappointed.

I have had my new cooktop for several weeks now. So far i am very happy with the performance. It heats up quickly and the temperature controls have been very simple to use.
My only complaint is that the large burner sits back too far. My range hood sticks out and I am tall, thus I have trouble seeing my food at an angle I prefer.
Other than that, it's great.

I needed a new cooktop and love not having knobs to turn, thus making for easier cleanup. This cooktop is easy to use however make sure you use the lock out button if you have pets that climb on your countertop & turn on appliances. I also wish there was a way to disable the beeping noises when you push the buttons. Instruction booklet had minimal information.

We replaced a GE Profile PP950BM1BB with the new JP5030DJBB.
The good thing are.
- New unit heater up faster.
- Fit exactly into the counter cutout where the old one was.
- Like the sync feature on the two left burners so my pancake grill heats evenly, but I can't use the feature.
The problems are
- The whole top was more usable in the old unit. The controls on the new unit are in the bottom center, the old ones were along the right side. the new unit controls are too sensitive so they turn on whenever we put something on the controls. The old top wasn't that sensitive so the area where the controls went could be used for resting warm pans out of the oven and the controls wouldn't turn on.
- It is obvious that a young person designed the coloring of the controls because they are hard to read. The old unit's control coloring stood out more against the black and were easier to read.
- The center bottom controls get in the way when I put my pancake griddle on the left two burners. The edges of the grille touches the left bottom control and cause it to go on or off. Also the sync feature is almost useless with my griddle. My griddle worked perfectly on the old unit.
I know the designers always want to "improve" the styling, but they could have left the old one alone.
Not sure I would recommend this to a friend. It depends on what their situation is. I like that it heats up faster but the controls are in the wrong place and hard to read.

We love the cooktop and the way it looks on our counter. the one thing holding back a star is to note if you site is not that good the touch controls are hard to see and almost impossible in lower lighting. I have reading glasses in a draw next to my unit.

This was the worst cooktop I've ever bought! "Stained" after the 1st use! No amount of cleaning will take the stain off. It take twice as long to heat up and cook. Don't waste you money on ANY GE appliances… and whatever you do DON'T buy it from LOWES! Worst customer service EVER!

I love this cooktop but it scratches sooo easily. The VERY FIRST time I used it, it scratched, twice. Now, I am a very careful, fussy person - and it still happened. Makes me really question how it's going to hold up and if I'm going to be able to live with how it wears. I'm doubtful… and disappointed. Otherwise, works great.

Easy to install, looks nice. I like the combination of coil sizes. The only thing different I would do is to put the controls along the one side. Where they are, it is very easy to hit the buttons when you don't mean too.

Not only this cooktop gets scratched very easiely, the downdraft hood we bought was DOA. GE ame out 2 weeks later to diagnose the problem, ordered parts that came in 2 weeks later and then cancelled by installation appointment. Now we are owners of a scratchy cooktop, non functioning downdraft and waiting for GE GODS to show some mercy.....stay away

Bought this to replace a discontinued GE Profile cooktop that could not be repaired. Needed to have same size because of cutout in countertop. Thought this glass cooktop would perform same as the GE Profile glass cooktop I had to replace. It does not. My issues: 1. it takes a long time to come to temperature; 2. size of burners is a problem -- only one is large enough for a large pan -- other 3 are all similar in size and a 12" saute pan is really too large any of the three. For example, if you want to use a large pasta pot and a large saute pan at the same time, it is a problem -- if you put the pasta pot on the large burner to get the full strength of the power boil feature, and then put the large saute pan on one of the smaller burners, the saute pan will cook more in the middle of the pan than on the perimeter of it. The two burners that can be linked are not necessary unless you plan to use a griddle...better to have given a medium size burner and then two smaller ones -- as on the Profile model; 3. it is annoying to clean -- it smears very easily, even when using the specified cooktop cleaner; 4. controls are so sensitive -- they beep even if you just wipe a sponge across -- so much beeping! All in all, I find this a necessary (because of size restriction) but otherwise disappointing substitution for the GE Profile. It fits though, and for that I am grateful.
