Our dishes are coming out clean (yay) but often the soap packets are not dissolved in the shortest wash cycle, just sitting in the base of the machine. I also find it hard to push the buttons on top because of the way my counter is which is something we didn't realize about the design until it was installed

It gets the dishes clean, which is the goal, but truly a down grade from our previous GE. Bought it as a scratch and ding, sight unseen since it's description sounded comparable to our old machine. Smaller capacity, loud, and strange configuration of tines that don't fit my dishes well. It's an ADA model, which we didn't need but I didn't think it would make so much difference. Even if I had seen it before, I may have purchased it. You really don't know how it's going to work for you I until you have it in your home. Glad we got it at a discount.

It was not our first choice in dishwashers, but there were some available in the warehouse. I had just a few criteria: black, stainless steel tub and ability to delay wash cycle.
Cleans well. No clear info on dry cycle. Top rack doesn't accommodate tall glasses well.
Top rack doesn't roll in and out smoothly and bottom rack has to be rolled in exactly in the center.

This is our 2nd GE dishwasher. We were somewhat satisfied with the performance and durability of the previous model. GDT226SGLBB is a great disappointment. The posts in the lower rack on the left side are at about a 45 degree angle to the center making it impossible to face dishes of any size to the center. Yet, the Owner's Manual clearly states that the soiled side of a dish should face center. The Silverware Basket is made of weak and thin plastic. The Topper easily separates from the basket spilling silverware into the dishwasher or onto countertop. Even worse than this, the basket does not rest securely at any location in the lower rack, so it can move freely on the lower rack, flip and spill silverware into into bottom of dishwasher. The Indicator Lights for "Clean" and "Sanitized" are located at the top of the dishwasher door, and are not visible when door is closed. You need to bend down and look between the countertop and top of the door to see if the "Clean" light is on and the cycle is complete. The engineering and design of this appliance is disgraceful. I urge GE to redesign the Lower Rack and Silverware Basket, and provide free upgrades to all purchasers of the appliance.

This dishwasher is the most quiet I've ever owned, and goes through its cycles without anyone noticing, getting the dishes clean and spotless. It allows stacking of large numbers of plates, large and small, on the lower deck, and silverware either in bunches or solo.

We bought this unit because it was the only one that we could find that would fit in the space where our old dishwasher was. I am happy with the performance of the dishwasher, it is very quiet, and the dishes come out very clean. I have never used a drying cycle, so the absence of this does not bother me. But the dishes do not always dry fully after the cycle is complete. The manual says to open the door as soon as the "clean" light is lit, but the clean light is inside when the door is closed so you can't tell that it is lit. And I do use a rinse agent in the machine.
The dishwasher is difficult to load, as the racks are much smaller than a standard size dishwasher. The silverware basket doesn't really fit tightly in any space and is difficult to place into the shelf. I have had dishwashers in the past that have not cleaned the dishes, so I am thankful that even with the problems the unit has, the dishes do still come out very clean.

After only 2 uses, the upper rack came off the track and can't be pushed back in; even the local appliance store that we bought it from could not fix it and told us GE would need to do so. The racks feel thin, light and flimsy; they easily jump off the tracks. We had to buy an ADA compliant model and the GDT226SGLBB was the only one the local store had in stock. This is a very disappointing product and we will be seeking to have it removed and receive a full refund.

Very disappointed. For the price we paid we expected a lot more. The racks make no sense even with the photos and descriptions in the manual on how to load. There are only about 5 spots regular sized plates and probably 20 for saucer plates. The spokes are not tall enough to hold anything up, it all just falls down no matter how it is arranged. The silver caddy is way small for the spot they have it in and jiggles all around, a very small amount of silverware can actually fit in it. I do to like the top rack either, however I can make it work, I can not make the bottom rack work for any normal amount of dishes. This washer also barley dries. I have tried all the trouble shooting methods and my dishes still come out covered in water. I am very happy about how long of a delay it offers and how it is very very quiet, but if I could take it back without the hassle of taking it all out and actually taking it back to the store myself I would do it. For now Im still washing plate and pots and pans.
